THERE’S STILL A SPRING IN THEIR STEP

A great rock classic for any self-respecting wardrobe, with its round toe, its 2 elastic bands and its tongue, the Oodoo version of the Chelsea boots has kept its characteristic features, but is equipped, like the rest of the collection, with an upcycled tyre sole to give it more character. The “Goodyear stitching” assembly also gives it the necessary dose of solidity and waterproofing for frequent and trouble-free use.

MATERIALS
For the smooth leather version, we’ve used vegetal-tanned leather from the LWG-certified Italian tannery Ecopell. High-quality, sturdy and long-lasting, this is without doubt the best. The aged effect is genuine with this shoe: it’s the real deal.
It is important to mention that these are natural materials and that it is possible to encounter differences in colour or slight irregularities on the surface. This is not only proof of the exceptional quality and the special care given to these skins, but also the assurance of an authentic and unique boot.
The lining is made of natural calfskin for a perfect fit. Durable over time and extremely comfortable, it’s the crème de la crème of linings.

What could be better than a tyre sole? Unbreakable, grippy, resistant to oil, hydrocarbons and abrasion, there could be nothing better. Not to mention that this sole is made from used tyres; we’ve used this opportunity to minimise our environmental footprint and do our bit for the planet.
GOODYEAR STITCHING
Goodyear stitching means shoes for life! It’s produced by making an initial stitch that attaches the welt to the upper and the insole, then a second one that connects the welt to the sole.
The result is a so-called ‘extended margin,’ characteristic of Goodyear stitching, which makes the shoe completely waterproofing and durable, with the added possibility of infinite resoling.

In addition to the quality of our materials and production for added comfort, we’ve optimised the shoe by using an insole with memory foam. Guaranteed to feel like a mattress !

HIGH-QUALITY LEATHER

At Oodoo, we couldn’t imagine making customized, one-of-a-kind leather boots without using the best materials on the market. All that remained for us was to pay attention to the economic and environmental model we hold dear: the protection of our environment throughout our manufacturing process.

So, regarding our leathers, we’re lucky we could stay “regional” by going to our Italian colleagues. It’s impossible to find better Nappa, vegetable-tanned or velvet leather anywhere else. These are the must-haves for quality footwear.

OUR BOOTS

OUR SOLES MADE OF UPCYCLED TYRE

Our upcycled tyre soles come straight from RMD in Spain (León region). This way Oodoo puts words into action by being part of a virtuous circle and getting closer to 100% local! The sole is one of the foundations of our craftsmen’s work. One has to know how to handle it, how to use it with care and how to work it meticulously.

How is our famous upcycled sole produced? It’s easy to explain, but to do it, you have to master some pretty specialized know-how. The starting point is a traditional leather sole, onto which a die-cut tyre pad is glued. Glassing (sanding with sandpaper) follows to obtain the desired volume. And here it is, ready for a second lap of the track, with a sole that is, to say the least, stylish and original.

BOOTS FOR A LIFETIME

With the famous Goodyear stitching process we’re so fond of, longevity is guaranteed! The first stitch joins the welt to the upper and the insole, and the second joins the welt to the sole.

The result is a so-called “overhanging” edge, characteristic of Goodyear stitching, which gives the shoe total waterproofing and unfailing resistance. What’s more, they can be resealed ad infinitum.

Of course, this Goodyear stitching is enhanced by the quality of the leather we use. One has to take good care of it
